DeKalb Pride 2024 was once again a resounding success! 84 vendors, over 1,000 attendees, and lots of pride helped make the event fun regardless of the weather. The threat of storms loomed all day but ended up mostly as rain throughout the event which ended with a rainbow across the sky. Attendees were met with cakes, goodies, arts and crafts, face painting, buttons, and so much more.
Attendees were able to participate in a rally held in the auditorium of the Egyptian Theatre where they heard stories and participated in chants to show their support for Pride.
Inside the Egyptian Theatre and outside on 2nd street and Van Buer Plaza, vendors provided activities, food, and goodies for attendees to enjoy.
Organizations, like DeKalb County Convention and Visitors Bureau pictured below, showed their support for Pride in DeKalb by handing out swag and sharing information with attendees.
The Egyptian Theatre staff is an integral part of the DeKalb Pride committee that plans and puts on the event. The Egyptian Theatre is host to a free pride film each year and during the DeKalb Pride Fest is host to a number of vendors in the lobby along with having concessions and restrooms open. The event was a huge success and DeKalb Pride’s biggest yet! Thank you to everyone who was able to attend and to the DeKalb Pride Committee for their assistance in putting this event on. We are proud to partner with so many wonderful community organizations and businesses to host this event. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
