The Historic Egyptian Theatre opened on December 10, 1929 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The theatre has been operated and maintained by the non-profit organization P.E.T. (Preservation of the Egyptian Theatre, Inc.) since 1978. The theatre is still a full functioning performing arts center with over 125 different events every year including live events, private events and films.
The theatre offers Haunted Tours to the general public a few times a year and is the location of an ongoing paranormal investigation. There are believed to be multiple paranormal entities in the theatre including at least one older male and a woman. There is an extensive list of encounters that volunteers, staff, renters and the public have experienced in the theatre including first hand visual and audible evidence. Some photographs and recorded audio exist of these encounters.
Private Investigations allow full access to the theatre for investigation teams. A Theatre representative along with an experienced paranormal investigator involved with the ongoing investigation of the theatre will be on hand to provide a building tour, history, documentation of past experiences and more.
