Celebrate the creativity of local students at the annual DeKalb District Art Show, returning to the Egyptian Theatre in downtown DeKalb from May 5–7, 2026. This inspiring showcase features more than 500 student artists, each presenting their own unique work across a wide range of mediums.
The exhibit will be open daily from 5–8 PM, and admission is free, making it a perfect outing for families, friends, and community members. Concessions will be available for purchase as you explore the incredible talent on display.
On Thursday’s closing night, join art teachers from across the district as they welcome families and celebrate student achievement. Awards will be presented for the juried Middle School and High School divisions, recognizing first, second, and third place in categories including Painting, Neutral Drawing, Colored Drawing, Mixed Media, Printmaking, Sculptural Ceramics, Functional Ceramics, Digital Art, and Photography. Middle school entries will be judged by grade level, and one exceptional piece will be honored as Best of Show.
