The video debuted Wednesday on CBS’ “The Today Show.” The 3-minute, 41-second, video is not yet published on YouTube but can be viewed online on Vevo. The music video shows McCreery’s life on and off stage, with scenes depicting his busy touring schedule, flights and performances and his down time at home with his wife Gabi and puppy Moose, his honeymoon in Bora Bora, golfing and hanging out with friends. The video was directed by Jeff Ray, the Austin, Texas-based filmmaker who also directed McCreery’s videos for “Five More Minutes” and “This is It.” “In Between” was written by McCreery, Frank Rogers, Jessi Alexander and Jonathan Singleton and produced by Rogers. McCreery, winner of the 10th season of “American Idol,” performed for a sold-out audience at the Egyptian on April 19. Nerad was told that filming and photography from the event could appear in McCreery’s future music video, but he did not know the extent until the video for “In Between” debuted today. “It’s amazing to be featured in a music video that will be viewed around the world,” Nerad said. “It was a huge show and an all-around great experience,” Jeanine Holcomb, the theater’s marking and communications director, said. “With the music video, you get to relive and celebrate the whole night over and over again. People around the world can see the excitement and energy in our theater.” At the 3:21 spot in the video, DeKalb Police Sgt. Chad McNett, who was working security at the show, can be seen escorting McCreery from the theater to his tour bus. “The music video will put DeKalb on the map if it wasn’t already,” McNett said. “The Egyptian has expanded their shows, downtown DeKalb is growing. The city is becoming a really cool place to go to and hang out. This is a perfect example of Proudly DeKalb.” McNett spent time with McCreery and his band on and off stage during the concert. McNett described the singer as “down to earth, friendly, funny – just a nice kid.” Before his DeKalb show in April, McCreery told the Daily Chronicle that he handles his fame by “having one foot in the music world, one foot in the real world.” “I’m on the road half a week, he said. “The other half, I’m at home with my wife and our puppy in North Carolina. We go to the grocery store, go out to eat, go to Lowe’s and home-improvement stores, I change light bulbs. It’s pretty normal. I’m always going to be me.”

DeKALB – While watching country singer Scotty McCreery’s music video for his newest song, “In Between,” viewers might notice a familiar sight – the Egyptian Theatre. Alex Nerad, executive director of the Egyptian, said the theater can be spotted in the video about 12 times, with scenes showing the backstage area, dressing room, crowd and McCreery performing on stage.
