COVID-19 Expectations & Precautions

The Egyptian Theatre is committed to providing a safe environment for all patrons, volunteers, staff, and performers. In order to offer the safest and most enjoyable experience possible, the following policies will be in effect until further notice.  Policies may change at any time based on the current health guidance from authorities.

Ticketing and Capacity

At this time, all ticketing for events will be reserved seating to provide social-distancing seating.  Extremely reduced capacity is in place to meet current health guidelines.  It is highly recommended that you purchase tickets in advance as events may sell-out under the reduced available capacity.

Entering our venue

To give everyone additional space when entering and exiting the Theatre, we are creating staggered entrance times as well as dismissed exiting.

Staggered entrance times will occur as follows based on the ticket buyer last name:
A-F: enter 60-45 mins before event start time
G-L: enter 45-30 mins before event start time
M-R: enter 30-15 mins before event start time
S-Z: enter 15-0 mins before event start time

In order to cut down on congregating at our box office, patrons are strongly encouraged to print their tickets at home or select our e-ticket option.

Once inside

All patrons are required to wear masks. Masks will not be supplied by the theatre. Masks must remain on while patrons move throughout the venue. Only when the patron has taken their seat may they then remove their mask.  Masks must cover mouth and nose at all times when mask is being worn.

Hand sanitizer will be made readily available throughout the venue and patrons are strongly encourage to make use of them.

When moving around the venue, please be aware of the directional arrows which denote ‘up’ aisles and ‘down’ aisles as well as all other signage indicating one-way traffic flow.

When the show has ended, patrons will exit when their row is dismissed by our ushers. This will be done to minimize crowding in order to maintain social distancing. Again masks will be required when the patron leaves their seat and must remain on until they have exited the venue.

Social distanced seating

In order to keep patrons the required six feet apart, we will be implementing social distanced seating. Please note that all events will have assigned seating as well as a limited number of tickets available.  Current restrictions only allow 50 patrons on the main floor and 50 patrons in the balcony.  Note that there is no elevator access to the balcony.

Concessions & restrooms

With social distanced seating being implemented, it will also be required that patrons seated on the main floor must use the main floor restrooms and concessions and patrons seated in the balcony must use the restrooms and concession stand located on our mezzanine level.

Sanitizing efforts

The Egyptian Theatre will be implementing increased sanitation and cleaning practices as our patrons health and safety is paramount to our organization.

  • All staff and volunteers will be wearing face masks
  • All high touch surfaces will be sanitized prior to events and often during an event
  • If multiple events occur in one day, the Theatre will have a minimum of two hours between the last patron exiting our building and the next patron entering in order to sanitize all surfaces in the venue including the auditorium, restrooms and concession stands.
