COVID-19 Expectations & Precautions

The Egyptian Theatre is committed to providing a safe environment for all patrons, volunteers, staff, and performers. In order to offer the safest and most enjoyable experience possible, the following policies will be in effect until further notice.  Policies may change at any time based on the current health guidance from authorities.

Ticketing and Capacity

At this time, all ticketing for events will either be reserved seating OR rows will be roped off for General Admission events to provide social-distancing seating.  Extremely reduced capacity is in place to meet current health guidelines.  It is highly recommended that you purchase tickets in advance as events may sell-out under the reduced available capacity.

Once inside

The Egyptian Theatre has maintained strict adherence to CDC, state, local and industry guidance throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.  Under the most recent update from the CDC and State of Illinois, following the latest science, we will no longer require our patrons, staff, volunteers, or performers who have been fully vaccinated to wear a mask in the Egyptian Theatre.

We ask all of those that are unvaccinated to continue to follow CDC and state mandates, which currently requires the unvaccinated to wear a mask and social distance.  The health and safety of all who visit the Egyptian Theatre remain our top priority.

We will continue to follow enhanced safety and cleaning protocols, provide social distancing reserved seating, have modified concessions, provide hand sanitizer throughout the building, and comply with all applicable CDC, state, and local guidelines.  By working together, we can keep everyone safe and get back to bringing entertainment to all.

Hand sanitizer will be made readily available throughout the venue and patrons are strongly encourage to make use of them.

Social distanced seating

In order to keep patrons the required six feet apart, we will be implementing social distanced seating. Please note that all events will have assigned seating OR for general admission events, rows will be roped off.  Limited number of tickets will be available based on current health guidelines.  Note that there is no elevator access to the balcony.

Concessions & restrooms

With social distanced seating being implemented, it will also be required that patrons seated on the main floor must use the main floor restrooms and concessions and patrons seated in the balcony must use the restrooms and concession stand located on our mezzanine level.

Sanitizing efforts

The Egyptian Theatre will be implementing increased sanitation and cleaning practices as our patrons health and safety is paramount to our organization.

  • All staff and volunteers will be wearing face masks
  • All high touch surfaces will be sanitized prior to events and often during an event
  • If multiple events occur in one day, the Theatre will sanitize all surfaces in the venue including the auditorium, restrooms and concession stands between events.
