Backstage at the Egyptian with Marty Scott of Liverpool Legends

Interview with Marty Scott of Liverpool Legends. Interview conducted by Erin Cronin.

ERIN:
How was this group formed?
MARTY: I started the show with George Harrison’s sister Louise after connecting with her at a Beatle convention just after George had passed away.

E: What has been your favorite place to perform?
M: Probably Carnegie Hall was the most important. I love our international shows like India, England and South America. Our last international tour was actually Ukraine in 2020 right before the lockdown. We almost got stuck there as we returned March 12, 2020.

E:
How long have you and your fellow performers been preparing for this tour?
M: We are always preparing!
E: What is your favorite song to perform as a band?
M: I probably like “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” and the moment. I get to do the big guitar solo that was performed by Eric Clapton.
E: What are you most excited about in regards to performing at the Egyptian Theatre?
M: I love DeKalb. When I was a kid I used to perform at Otto’s there and always loved that town.
E: What can audiences look forward to during this tour?
M: This tour is the very Best and Biggest Hits of The Beatles, and also some cool B sides for the hard core Beatles fans. Something for everyone!
