Backstage at the Egyptian: Meet our new Marketing Intern, Josh Hanold

Hi everyone! My name is Josh and I am the Spring 2023 Marketing Intern. Currently I am a second year student at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Illinois and am majoring in marketing. What drew me to working for a nonprofit organization was the community aspect. For me, community is one of the driving forces behind culture, and the Egyptian Theatre is one of the cornerstones of DeKalb’s culture.

I have been attending various events at the Egyptian Theatre since I was four years old. I remember watching Second City perform live on stage, seeing a magician make a car appear out of thin air, and even watching my sister get married there have all been experiences that have forever tied me to the theatre. It’s only right that I continue my journey here.

In my opinion, the arts are culture and without culture we cannot build strong communities. The Egyptian Theatre is all about community and that is why I am so excited to be a part of this team. With my time here I hope to promote this strong cultural center that does so much to help enrich the lives of everyone in DeKalb county, including myself.
