Hi, I’m Lia Martinez and I’m happy to introduce myself as an official Egyptian Theatre intern for this spring! I am a Nonprofit and NGO studies major at Northern Illinois University that’s passionate about animals (especially cats), human rights advocacy, mental health awareness and music. I attended a nonprofit event for the Epilepsy Advocacy Network last spring hosted at the Egyptian Theatre. When I came in, I loved the beauty of the building and welcoming community so I was intrigued when I found out I had the opportunity to intern here. I’m excited to be working with inclusive people that work with nonprofits, organizations and artistic individuals. Being surrounded by people that are enthusiastic about similar interests is amazing. I can’t wait to branch out to learn more about different topics I’m unfamiliar with and increase my knowledge!
