As my internship comes to an end, I would like to thank the Egyptian Theatre and the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership (DCNP) program for giving me this opportunity. During my time at the theatre, I formed wonderful relationships, particularly with my mentors Erin and Jeanine from the marketing department. They were very patient with me and my schedule, and I felt valued as a member of the marketing team. Working for a nonprofit has given me valuable insights into fundraising, event planning, and grant writing, among other marketing and community outreach experiences. I plan to continue my studies in environmental policy and nonprofit and NGO studies, utilizing and building upon the skills I gained while working at the theatre. The Egyptian Theatre has a strong presence in DeKalb, and I am honored to have been a part of such a historic and significant building in our community’s culture.
