As a young person, you often hear professionals talking about doing a job you love, so that you never have to work a day in your life. Well, as my internship at the Egyptian wraps up, I can confidently say that my experience rarely felt like an obligation and was instead an opportunity to learn, create, and participate.
I arrived for my hours feeling excited about whatever new projects I got to work on each day. Throughout the summer, I was able to take part in fun events, work on engaging projects, and make meaningful contributions to DeKalb’s arts community. It was especially fulfilling to work with such a welcoming team that valued my work, ideas, and input.
Looking ahead, I am eager to begin my final year of undergraduate studies with a deeper appreciation for community partnerships and local engagement. I am glad to take skills and knowledge from this summer with me as I continue. Above all, I want to express my sincere gratitude to those involved who helped make this opportunity possible.
