Backstage at the Egyptian: Emmanuel Cockrell of Stage Coach Players’ The Little Mermaid

Interview with Emmanuel Cockrell, performer with Stage Coach Players as King Triton in The Little Mermaid

Interview conducted by Michaela Alcantar

Michaela: How long have you been performing with Stage Coach Players?

Emmanuel: This will be my first performance with Stage Coach Players.

Michaela: What is it about performing arts and theatre that you enjoy most?

Emmanuel: What I enjoy most about performing is this feeling of peace and happiness. That knowing of “this is where I belong” (you’ll get that reference when you see the show).

Michaela: What thoughts are going through your head about performing The Little Mermaid?

Emmanuel: My biggest thought is how blessed I am to get to perform again. This will be the first time for me back on stage since 2016. That might not seem like a long time, but for me, that seems like forever.

Michaela: What are you looking forward to the most while performing The Little Mermaid?

Emmanuel: I’m looking forward to everything coming together and making magic on stage. We have a great team and I’m excited to share our hard work with the city of DeKalb.

Michaela: Is there anything you would like to tell the audience before the show?

Emmanuel: Get ready to have a mer-mazing time under the sea!
