We strive to make every attendee welcome and comfortable here at the Egyptian Theatre. We have made many improvements to this 1929 historic theatre to make the building more accommodating for all. We have more to be done and continue to work on more improvements every year.

Getting to the Egyptian Theatre

Prearranged Ride Service with Transdev (815) 420-5500.

City of DeKalb Transit System Routes 16 and 17 provide bus access to Downtown DeKalb with stops half a block from the front door of the Egyptian Theatre.

Parking

There are four handicapped parking spaces available in the Van Buer Plaza parking lot located directly across the street from the theatre. This is a free public parking lot. There is an ADA accessible path from the parking lot to the front doors of the theatre.

The sidewalk underneath the marquee may also be used for drop-off and pick-up.

Entering the Theatre

  • The public entrance for everyone is located at 135 N. 2nd Street in downtown DeKalb.
  • Our front door widths are ADA compliant.
  • An assistive door opener is available on the far right door at the main entrance.
  • Transport wheelchairs are available upon request at the front doors to assist patrons to their seats. These are not available to remain seated in throughout an event.
