Why Ride With Us?

Join us for a fun and enjoyable bike ride through DeKalb and Kane Counties and support the historic Egyptian Theatre at the same time. Your participation in “Ride Like An Egyptian” benefits the Egyptian Theatre, operated by the non-profit organization Preservation of the Egyptian Theatre, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The Egyptian Theatre is a fully restored 1929 Egyptian-themed art deco movie palace and vaudeville house.

The ride begins and ends at the Egyptian Theatre, so you will have the opportunity

to explore this historic landmark. This bike ride offers four mix-n-match 25-mile loops. Loop 1 starts at the Egyptian Theatre (135 N. 2nd Street, DeKalb, IL) and goes east to Maple Park, IL. From the Maple Park central rest stop, you can ride any (or all) of three 25-mile loops before returning to the Egyptian Theatre. All participants will be provided with route maps and all routes will be marked with signs. The ride goes on rain or shine. Due to the charitable nature of this ride, there are no refunds offered. Registration for “Ride Like An Egyptian” is tax-deductible.
